Achieving Maximum Smoothness in CS:GO

Setting up for playing CS GO without freezes and lags

UPD: Nvidea Profile Inspector stopped supporting new drivers, so the graphics settings have changed a lotSystem:

GPU

1060 6gb MSI Gaming X

CPU

Intel i7 9700F

RAM

2666hz 2x8gb

Windows setup

1. Disabling XBOX 2.

Power consumption mode - high performance. In the reduced mode, with alt + tab games, the system for some reason did not return priority to the game and the processor frequency was lower. In the "high performance" mode, the frequency is stable maximum with turbo boost on all cores

3. Check Windows updates. After updating to version 2004 (4.11.2020), the game became even smoother

GAME SETTINGS Launch parameters:

  • +fps_max 300 - Limit fps so as not to see jumps and frame breaks

  • -novid - The command allows you to skip the initial splash screen

  • -freq 144 - Update the frame rate to the monitor refresh rate

  • -tickrate 128 - International tickrate standard. Mostly noticeable when throwing grenades.

  • +mat_queue_mode 2 - Sets the multithreading mode

Next, go to Nvidia GeForce Experience. Select the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Select custom settings. Select the resolution in which we play. And drag the slider towards maximum performance. These are the settings the program selected for my configuration:

Video settings after applying optimization:

Nvidea settings:

Also give all preference to performance, but without manual settings.

Mouse settings

In the mouse properties, you need to uncheck the "Enable enhanced pointer precision" option:

Configuring the external environment

It is important to properly prepare the computer environment, namely:

1. Disconnect the second monitor from the video card slot! (not just the monitor off button). The second monitor created strong freezes. This fix is one of the most significant and effective. Freezes disappeared, fps drops did not disappear during a busy scene.

2. Install the game on an SSD (A lot of comments that this is unnecessary - nonsense). Fps drops during a busy scene decreased significantly. In the benchmark, the fps did NOT increase, BUT the frames became more stable during busy scenes.

Recap

With the above settings, we managed to achieve comfortable gaming on a not very productive system.
